The new Umrah season has officially started and the barriers surrounding the Kaaba have been lifted

The barriers were initially set in place to maintain social distancing over the past few years due to COVID-19 restrictions. Other precautions like social distancing stickers and time-schedules were set in place to avoid over-crowding during the virus outbreak.
The barriers were placed around the Kaaba back in March 2020

Pilgrims can finally touch the Kaaba, as Makkah welcomes the new visitors for the Umrah season. Sheikh Sudais, an Imam at the Holy Mosque praised the Kingdom’s leadership to make sure all visitors were faciltated safely. Things have officially gotten back to normal at the Holy Mosque.
