The event drew in a vibrant crowd, not just from Riyadh but from all corners of Saudi, eager to experience the incredible mix of international and local artworks on display until May 20 when the Biennale bids farewell for the year. As a key player in the Diriyah Biennale Foundation, the Diriyah Contemporary Art Biennale is on a mission to create a buzzing center for contemporary art, sparking lively conversations between Saudi Arabia and the global stage, just like the mega-successful first edition in 2022. This year, they’re taking a deep dive into the wonders of the natural environment and how it shapes our lives with the super cool theme “After Rain.”

Why “After Rain”? Well, their genius lead curator, Ute Meta Bauer, says it’s all about renewal and hope. It captures the vibe of today’s Saudi Arabia – full of energy and change. To capture this, they’ve got 92 amazing artists in the spotlight, showcasing their unique perspectives and representing 43 countries. What’s even cooler is that 30 of them are from the Gulf region!
