The Number Of Tourists Visiting Saudi Crosses A Record 100 Million

Saudi Arabia’s tourism industry is on fire! The country reportedly saw over 100 million tourists last year! According to a report in the Gulf News, the 100+ million total includes 77 million local tourists. The stats were revealed by Ahmed Al Khateeb, the Saudi Tourism Minister, at an investment forum in Riyadh.

Foreign tourists stand at 27 million for the year!

These totals obviously include repeat tourists, just as Saudi Arabia’s population isn’t 77 million. So they’re probably including all the trips you made to Riyadh to catch Riyadh Season or your visits to Makkah for pilgrimage.

These numbers are amazing, but Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has set the bar even higher. The aim is to be one of the top 10 destinations in the world.

By 2030, Saudi Arabia is aiming for a staggering 150 million tourists! That’s a split of 80 million locals and 70 million from all corners of the globe. With Expo 2030 taking place in Riyadh that year, Saudi Arabia may easily hit that goal!

Plus, getting to Saudi Arabia is now easier than ever before with so many visa options to choose from, including the incredible stopover visa that practically grants any transit passenger a 96-hour visa for zero cost.
