Jeddah Tower is an extraordinary urban project in Saudi Arabia and is seen as one of the ambitious symbols of Saudi Vision 2030, reflecting the Kingdom’s commitment to developing infrastructure and attracting investment. In this report, we’ll explore the key highlights of the project, its location, phases, and challenges, based on reliable Saudi sources.
The project is being developed by Jeddah Economic Company (JEC) in partnership with Kingdom Holding Company, chaired by HRH Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal.
The development will include multi-use facilities such as offices, hotels, residential units, and recreational spaces. Foundation work began in the early 2010s, with the third foundation contract awarded in 2012 through Saudi Power, under the supervision of the Bin Laden Group, in a meeting attended by Prince Alwaleed.
In September 2023, Jeddah Economic Company announced the resumption of construction after several years of halt. The project faced more than five years of delays due to funding shortages. According to recent announcements, construction is now expected to be completed before 2028. Jeddah Tower represents a launchpad for a global urban and commercial destination in the city, contributing to the diversification of the Saudi economy.
Jeddah Tower is more than just a skyscraper; it is a statement of architectural and economic ambition, reflecting Saudi Arabia’s transformation toward the future.
Once completed, it will elevate Jeddah’s global status and reshape its urban skyline.
