Spring is around the corner, which means that the city of Taif will be covered in a hue of pink as the city’s prized roses bloom. There’s so much to them that, unfortunately, a lot of people don’t know about.

Well, Bayt Fann, who are known for their incredible Twitter threads, finally did one on them. Needless to say, it’s super insightful.

If you’re visiting Taif during the spring, you deffo have to make it a point to visit a rose farm—the smell of fragrant roses just lingers in the air. Bliss!

7/ However, a few centuries ago Taif rose petals were not distilled in Taif at all. 11/ With similarities to the famous Bulgarian Kazanlik rose, some say it was brought to Saudi Arabia by the Ottoman Turks, who once ruled a vast empire over much of the Arabian peninsula.
