The Saudi General Directorate of Civil Defense has issued a stern warning to the public in light of the impending thunderstorms forecasted to sweep across most Saudi regions from Sunday to Wednesday

Citizens are urged to exercise extreme caution and remain vigilant during this period, avoiding areas prone to flash floods, waterlogged regions, flood passages, and valleys. Swimming in these precarious locations is strongly discouraged due to their unsuitability and potential hazards.

Warnings to adhere to guidelines with the possibility of risky weather

Emphasizing the importance of heeding safety instructions, the Civil Defense stressed the necessity of adhering strictly to guidelines disseminated through various media platforms and social networks. Anticipated weather conditions include light to moderate rainfall, with the possibility of torrential downpours, hailstorms, and sandstorms posing significant risks.

Several regions across Saudi could be impacted

Impacted regions encompass Makkah, Riyadh, the Northern Border Region, Al Jouf, Eastern Province, Asir, Najran, Jazan, Hail, and Al-Qassim. Specific areas within these regions such as Maysan, Adham, and Al-Ardiyat in Makkah, as well as numerous districts in Riyadh including Riyadh city, Al Majmaah, Thadig, Marrat, and others, are expected to experience adverse weather conditions. Additionally, the southern Al-Baha region is forecasted to encounter moderate rainfall.
