Thunderstorms To Sweep Across The Kingdom Until Monday

Hera Shabbir

Heads up, Saudi Arabia! The National Center of Meteorology (NMC) says thunderstorms are here to stay until Monday! Expect wild weather with strong winds, heavy rain, hail, and even high waves along the coast.

Makkah, Al-Baha, Asir, Riyadh, Hail, and Madinah are in for light to moderate rain, while the Northern Borders and Al-Jouf regions can expect steady showers

Although the country is known for its dry desert weather, the Kingdom doesn’t always bask under the sun; sometimes, it gets hit with heavy downpours that can lead to serious flooding.  When these torrential rains strike, the National Center of Meteorology and the Civil Defense step in, urging everyone to steer clear of flood-prone spots like valleys and low-lying areas. They also recommend staying updated with the latest weather alerts through official channels and social media.

So make sure to stay in the know, follow the NMC’s updates on social media and the Anwaa app for the latest weather warnings!
