Saudi singer Areej Abdullah, the daughter of late Saudi singer Abdullah Muhammad, was discovered dead at her Cairo residence reported the National. She had a sizeable following on social media and was known for her motivational speeches.

She was found lying on her bed by her maid who noticed that Abdullah wasn’t breathing. She quickly notified officials, and the country’s prosecutor-general requested a post-mortem examination. A pulmonary embolism was confirmed to be the cause of death by forensic specialists.

She was just 24 years old.

Abdullah has apparently been unwell for the past few weeks. Her health had improved and she had been released from the hospital just a week ago, according to the publication.

In one of her last interactions with her fans, she had promised a new single soon.
