Sheikh Saleh Al Maghamsi confirmed that due to the fear of being infected by coronavirus, it is permitted to avoid mosques as a preventative measure.

He clarified through a television interview that since Sharia law gives permission for people to avoid mosques during rainstorms so they will not walk through mud, this can be applied to the current outbreak of coronavirus.

He also expressed his admiration for the decision to suspend Umrah and the Prophet’s Mosque visits.
