This particular species of penguins is called the Humboldt penguin and is native to South America.

Speaking to Arab News, Zaki Sadayo, executive manager of the aquarium said: “We’re delighted to bring the first-ever group of penguins to Saudi Arabia.”

Fakieh Aquarium continues to reinvent itself and before introducing penguins the aquarium started using augmented reality to create a more immersive experience for visitors.

The aquarium currently has over 200 species of underwater life on display.

So one may ask what’s next after penguins? Well, their official website states that they are planning to introduce an attraction that would allow visitors to swim with dolphins.
