The General Sports Authority announced, via Twitter, that its chairman Turki Al Sheikh changed the name of this year’s Saudi Professional League to something a little more fitting.
Wait for it…
In an event last night, the new look of the league was introduced by its president Al Sheikh, who renamed the league to honour MBS from its old name: Abdul Latif Jameel Professional Football League.
The Prince Mohammed bin Salman League will be used as the ‘special edition’ name for 2018-2019, reports say. STC, a telecom company, officially secured TV rights to air the Prince Mohammed bin Salman League and the national football team matches in a deal that will span ten years.
