These Photos Will Prove To You Why Umluj Is Home To Some Of The Best Beaches In Saudi

Avatar

The seaside fishing town was pretty much in oblivion (at least amongst tourists) save for a few adventuring souls that wandered their way to this town that has a glut of beaches.

But the town’s fortunes are slowly changing with the city’s beaches becoming the subject of many viral Instagram posts. Hotels are being haphazardly built to meet the flood of tourists that are flocking to the place. You will also probably be one amongst the flood once you see its photos.

Umluj sits by the Red Sea some 150 km north of Yanbu.

It be used called Al Hawra back in the day

Nowadays, it is being termed as Saudi Arabia’s Maldives by some.

The city along with the islands that dot its shore side will be part of the ambitious Red Sea Tourism Project.

The project will see a stretch of islands starting from Umluj to Al Wajh numbering more than 50 being developed into world-class tourism destinations.

The islands near the town’s coast boast of unspoiled beaches, tropical fauna, turquoise waters and abundance of coral reefs.

There are natural springs that are located in the northern part of Umluj.

If you visit it during non-touristy seasons such as Eid then expect to have beaches like these entirely for yourself.

Beach lover or not, Umluj definitely makes for a one-time visit.
