After the conclusion of a very successful Hajj (despite the ongoing pandemic), Umrah has now resumed in the Grand Mosque in Makkah and all the efforts are being made to make sure it is safe and organized.
The Grand Mosque is being cleaned and sterilized regularly every day and night
Prayer and ablution sites are especially sterilized after every prayer. And, of course, social distancing is strictly in place with only people who have permits (gotten through the Eatmarna app) and are ‘immunized’, via vaccination or recovery from COVID-19, are able to access the Grand Mosque.
The Ministry is also going above and beyond to make it a pleasant and comfortable experience for everyone, including by providing umbrellas to protect from the sunlight.
More than 4,000 male and female workers disinfect the Grand Mosque and its external courtyards 10 times a day using the finest types of disinfectants and sterilizers.
About 60,000 liters of environmentally friendly disinfectants are used daily during the cleaning process with about 470 equipment
Robots, powered by artificial intelligence, are involved in sterilizing the Grand Mosque
None of this would be possible without the hard work of the staff working tirelessly at the Grand Mosque, grateful to them!
