A Saudi receptionist saved the life of a 60-year-old Turkish pilgrim in Madinah after he performed the cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CR) shortly after the man lost his consciousness.

According to several reports, it was by luck that the receptionist, Fahd Ghuwaizi Al Harbi, at the Madinah hotel also happened to be a specialised nurse. What are the odds.

The CCTV footage shows how the man fainted and was recused by Al Harbi

In the video, the man sitting on a chair is seen when he suddenly passed out and falls on the floor. Al Harbi, who was frantic at this point, managed to resuscitate him to safety.

Al Arabaya quoted the hero saying, “I immediately rushed to save the pilgrim and provide first aid, before the Red Crescent team arrived to the site, and within just two minutes, the pilgrim regained consciousness after several resuscitation attempts.”

The Turkish man, reportedly, has diabetes and hypertension. He was later transferred to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

The Saudi man was honored and praised by the health affairs directory in Madinah, who said “We need to represent an honorable image for serving Haj pilgrims in Saudi Arabia.”
