A Young Saudi Director Took A Cute Selfie With His Mother While She Was Driving

Local film director, Fahad al-Sharif, posted an adorable selfie with his mother in the driver’s seat and says he hopes and expects his mother to be “the first Saudi woman to drive through Al-Raq’ei checkpoint, thanks to the security”. The checkpoint mentioned is located between Saudi’s border to Kuwait, in the eastern region of the Kingdom.

The new lift on women driving ban is expected to bring a shift to the Kingdom’s social and economic standing

The decree will provide women in Saudi Arabia with more job opportunities and mobility. Issuing women driver’s licenses will be effective form June 2018 and the entire Kingdom is already filled with excitement- with women purchasing new cars and being taught how to drive in legal areas. 

Fahd Al-Sharif is a film director who has won several awards for films such as The Arab Swan and Cockroach

He also earned a master’s degree in film from Hollywood, according to Al Arabiya.
