As weather experts predict that this winter will be one of the harshest for Riyadh in years, some residents of a neighborhood in the capital are helping those in need.

People have been hanging blankets on trees in Al Rayyan district for those in need to keep warm.

The twitter user who shared the pictures that instantly went viral said he hopes it will encourage more such initiatives

A cold wave  of weather hit the region on Wednesday and temperatures have been falling to as low as 10° Celsius.
