It rarely snows in Saudi and when it does it hardly ever snows in spring. But that’s what just happened and it looks mesmerising to say the least.

Most of us living in Saudi have never seen it actually snow here, we only get to see clips of it thanks to social media. But if you can rush to the northern part of the country near Jabal Lawz you are bound to be greeted by a sprawling carpet of snow.

You may have seen plenty of snow videos, but this drone one by international media giant Sky News is on another level.

In the video, one can see how the red sandy deserts of northern Saudi are covered in a thick carpet of snow.
