Twelve camels have been disqualified from a camel beauty competition for their owners having used botox.

The camels were disqualified from the King Abdulaziz Camel Festival in Saudi, near Riyadh after it was discovered that the camels had had botox injections.

The prizes for the contest total nearly AED200million in cash prizes but any camel found to have dyed or shaved fur, or any drugs in the lips, or alterations to their natural form is grounds for disqualification.

30,000 camels are competing in this year’s competition
