A Funeral Prayer Was Held For Jamal Khashoggi Right After Friday Prayers In Masjid Al Haram
Worshippers in Masjid Al Haram stood up for another prayer right after completing their Friday prayers yesterday. The prayer the congregation stood up for was the funeral prayer in absentia for journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
Arab News reported that earlier in the day a funeral prayer in absentia for Khashoggi was also held in the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah.

The prayers were prayed just one day after the public prosecutor announced that he is seeking the death penalty for five of the 11 suspects in the killing of Khashoggi.
The official account as per Shalaan Al-Shalaan, deputy public prosecutor and spokesman, is that Khashoggi was killed in Saudi Arabia’s Istanbul consulate on Oct. 2 by a lethal injection after a struggle, and his body was dismembered and taken out of the building reported the Arab News.
The investigation, however, hasn’t finished and the country’s foreign minister, Adel Al Jubair, has reiterated that Saudi is committed to holding those involved in the murder accountable through the judiciary.
