Just when you thought the world couldn’t tell you more peculiar stories, this one comes out. A man in Florida has admitted to impersonating a member of the Saudi royal family in order to manage multiple fraud schemes that led to theft of MILLIONS of dollars. 

Whoah.

According to The New York Post, the 47-year-old named Anthony Gignac appeared and admitted in court to using several aliases to make it look like he was a Saudi royal, complete with driving a Ferrari and diplomatic license plates. Several reports also mention that Gignac used his ‘Saudi royalty’ persona to coax big-time investors into putting millions of dollars for business plans that weren’t actually intact. 

Gignac even tried to purchase a hotel in Miami, Florida and had a nameplate that said “Sultan” on his condo’s front door.
