Saudi Arabia is leveling up their airport game with a new high-technology design ‘shoe scanner’. Oh yeah, you didn’t hear wrong.
Airports in the Kingdom will soon make use of a new device that allows inspection of passengers’ shoes without the need to remove them. As reported by Sabq, the new scanner was even on display at the State Security pavilion of the 32nd Janadriyah Festival.
The scanner directs ultraviolet light on the surface of the shoe, which then emits a signal in case of a plausible danger that is threatening to other’s lives. These new biometric scanners will be placed at Saudi airports pretty soon, according to GDN.
