A new public TV channel, which will be called ‘SBC’, is another great step to the modernisation the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is leading Saudi towards. According to the Khaleej Times, the launch of this latest channel this week aims to gather young viewership and ‘project image beyond the Kingdom’s borders.’

SBC will broadcast exclusive content that will appeal to the youth

SBC channel will have content like films, talk shows and even cooking programs. All of this is being done to achieve the Kingdom’s aims to turn Saudi into a cultural and entertainment hub by the year 2020. 

This is a general channel that’s seeking to attract the new generation of Saudis. Most of the content, about 75 per cent, is geared toward the youth between 15 and 35 years old.
