A Saudi Comedian Is Under The Scanner For His Comments On The Kingdom’s Soldiers Stationed At The Border
Saudi Arabia has thousands of soldiers guarding the southern border of the country as the war with Houthis rages on. One Saudi comedian, Osama Salmeen, made some comments on them that started a backlash on social media.
According to the Arabian Business, Saudi Arabia’s Public Prosecution has summoned comedian Osama Salmeen.
He will be investigated for his comments that were seen in a video clip and on social media.
A spokesperson for the Ministry of Media said that the ministry supports and protects artists’ freedom, but it won’t allow any insults against soldiers stationed at the borders.
A Saudi soldier stationed at the border slammed the video clip in his tweet.
