A Saudi Couple Who Pardoned Their Child’s Killer Has Been Awarded With A Trip For Their Kindness

A Saudi couple was recently invited to tour Indonesia by its government as gratitude for waiving their infant daughter’s killer. The Indonesian maid murdered the couple’s child by suffocating her to death in 2009, according to the daily Al Riyadh.
The court had sentenced the maid, Masama, for the murder of their 11-month-old girl but the family absolved her. The Indonesian Foreign Embassy then organised a tour of Indonesia at their expense for the couple’s good and forgiving nature.
The Saudi national thanked the government of Indonesia for the gesture
…stating that the act of waiving the punishments for his daughter’s murderer were for its own sake and that they did not expect anything in return nor did they accept compensation from the family.
