A Saudi Groom Absconded His OWN WEDDING Because Of Something The Bride’s Father Said

Avatar

A Saudi groom left his own melka (wedding ceremony) following the bride’s father’s demand that his daughter should be allowed to drive after their marriage, according to Al Marsd. The groom was surprised, after hearing the demands of the father, that his wife will get a car and her own driving license once the royal decree comes into effect by June 2018.

The groom left before the religious ceremony could even commence

The father discussed the conditions just minutes before the ceremony- which to his, and everyone else’s surprise, the groom did not take too well. The groom, reportedly, walked out of the hall despite other family members’ attempts at negotiation.

Prior to the lift of the driving ban, the groom had agreed to two other particular requests from his bride’s family

First was the dowry of SAR 40,000 and that his daughter be allowed to work after their marriage- both of which, the groom agreed to.

The bizarre story hit social media and lots of netizens were in shock, while the others defended the groom…

“It’s his right, and if this is what women want these days, spinsterhood is going to be on the rise.”

“How’s it possible for someone to cancel their wedding over this reason?”

And others agreed it’s better for the woman anyway
