A Saudi National Is Missing After An Air Crash In The Philippines

A trainer aircraft carrying two people crashed in the Philippines yesterday, one of whom was a Saudi national.

According to the Arab News, a search and rescue operation is underway to locate them.

The Saudi national has been identified as Abdullah Al-Sharif who was a student pilot.

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has said that they remain hopeful that they will the two alive and well. The crash took place in water.

The duo was flying a Beechcraft Baron 55 aircraft that took off from the San Jose Airport on Friday morning. It was heading south where it disappeared from the radar just several minutes after takeoff.

The aircraft was operated by the Orient Aviation Corp.

The Saudi Embassy in the Philippines is currently working closely with the CAAP rescue group.
