A Saudi Student Gets A Planet Named After Him And He’s Not The First Saudi To Be Bestowed With The Honour

Avatar

Saudi students abroad are making the country very proud and their achievements are bound to inspire their fellow citizens. Recently, one Saudi student had a planet named after him in recognition of his work.

According to Ashraq Al Awsat newspaper, Saudi student Faisal Aldossary got a minor planet named after him by NASA.

The planet will henceforth be called Aldossary 34559.

NASA normally names such planets after students in recognition of their work at the Intel International Exhibit for Science and Engineering. Aldossary presented his research on fabricating botanical hormones for agricultural applications at the exhibit.

Aldossary is not the first Saudi student though to have a planet or an asteroid named after him.

Earlier his fellow Saudi citizens Abduljabbar Al-Houmoud and Fatima Al-Sheikh also had planets named after them.
