A Saudi university student, Ahmed Al Mohimeed, was recognised by Australian TV news channel 9 News for saving a man in his 50s who had a reported heart attack and was close to drowning in Aldokland River. Al Mohimeed witnessed that the man couldn’t stay afloat when he was walking around the Victoria Harbor Promenade, he didn’t hesitate to jump in and try to save the man.
Al Mohimeed told 9 News the reasons for him saving the man, “As a human, we do care about each other, we love each other and we have to look after each other. So that’s why I did it.” He also added that he would do it all over again, despite the fact that they are strangers.

Reports suggest he had a heart attack and was rushed to the hospital after Al Mohimeed attempted to get him out of the water. During this time, Al Mohimeed was also rushed back to the hospital, in a state of semi-consciousness.
His friends, family members and even delegates from the Saudi embassy in Australia all extended their pride over Al Mohimeed’s heroic deed.
