A Saudi Woman Gets A 3-Day Jail Sentence For Abusing Her Ex-Husband On Social Media Apps

Whatsapp and Snapchat are immensely popular in Saudi. Recently, a Saudi woman used them along with other social media platforms to send abusive messages to her ex-husband.  The divorce happened five years ago, but the abusive messages poured in recently.

According to the Saudi Gazette, the woman was sentenced to three days in prison and made to sign a pledge that she would not repeat it again.

The woman confessed in the court of sending the messages.

However, during proceedings, she also said that her husband badmouthed her and her family.

She also described her ex as being rude and uncouth.

The kind of messages the woman sent centered on racism and the court verified these messages on both the woman’s and her ex-husband’s phone.
