An American University Raises The Saudi Flag In Recognition Of The Two Saudis Who Drowned While Rescuing Children In America

Theeb Alyami, 27, and Jaser Alrakah, 25, just had one month left to graduate as civil engineers from a college in Massachusetts and their family has not seen them for the past three years. They were waiting for their graduation and return to Saudi Arabia but fate had other plans for them.

The two cousins saw two children who were playing in Chicopee river in Massachusetts and got caught in the current. The Saudi cousins immediately jumped in to save them.

They did manage to save the children but lost their own lives in the process.

The American media has called them “heroes.”

Now in recognition of them the University of Hartford in Connecticut raised the Saudi flag for a week. The university shared a post on Instagram with a heartfelt message for its alumni.
