Theeb Alyami, 27, and Jaser Alrakah, 25, just had one month left to graduate as civil engineers from a college in Massachusetts and their family has not seen them for the past three years. They were waiting for their graduation and return to Saudi Arabia but fate had other plans for them.
The two cousins saw two children who were playing in Chicopee river in Massachusetts and got caught in the current. The Saudi cousins immediately jumped in to save them.
We are saddened by the loss of UHart student Theeb Alyami and former student Jaser Alrakah, who drowned trying to rescue children from a river. “Their heroism represents the very best of the international students…” said the U.S. Dept. of State: https://t.co/IaMiwaCdwD
