A male expat in the Kingdom will be deported for wearing shorts and entering a omens-only waiting area at a fitness centre. Many social media users found the act to be disrespectful, and a photo of the man was taken along with a tweet from an angry woman. The tweet has since gone viral.

The authorities quickly took charge

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Labour and Social Development announced the decision to deport the expat on Monday.

In the announcement, the ministry stated that this decision followed after a women who was waiting for a job interview at the fitness centre posted a photo of the man wearing shorts.

This was a violation of the Kingdom’s rules

After thorough investigation, ministry officials stated that the health club did violate Saudi’s rules. A lot of women found that it was an inappropriate act for the man to be dressed in shorts, despite being in a fitness centre, as it was the women-only section.

The club, according to The Khaleej Times, has now been shut down and the man will be deported.
