ATTN: Expats In Saudi Will Soon Be Banned From Working In The Hospitality Sector

Over the past few years, jobs several key industries have been made exclusively for Saudi citizens. One of the latest industry to get affected by the slew of Saudization measures is the hospitality sector.

According to Gulf Business, the kingdom plans to soon ban expats from working in several hospitality jobs.

The Ministry of Labour and Social Development said that the new policy will be rolled out by December this year.

The move will be applicable to those hotels that are classified as three-star and above. For resorts and furnished apartment, the move will be applicable to only those that are classified as four-star and above.

Thousands of jobs are expected to be created for Saudi citizens.

The majority of jobs that will be made for Saudis only include reservations, purchasing, marketing and front desk related.

Bellboys, parking valets, drivers and doormen will be exempted from the new policy.
