Saudi Arabia Just Made A Major Announcement At The Ongoing Cannes Film Festival

Saudi Arabia just made a major announcement at the ongoing 71st Cannes Film Festival.

The CEO of thr General Culture Authority of Saudi Arabia, announced that Saudi Arabia is “open for business” to the global film industry with a number of initiatives. 

He announced a rebate program of a minimum of 35 per cent for foreign productions filming in Saudi Arabia

Plus, they are developing guidelines on how to get even higher than 35 percent.

Plus, the General Culture Authority will be “funding 50 per cent of all money spent on Saudi talent.”

This extends from film to documentaries, animation, scripted programs and much more.

Saudi Arabia recently allowed cinemas to open in the country and plans to expand the entertainment industry in the country.

And Cannes is a MAJOR film festival that brings together film companies, directors, producers, and actors from all over the world
