The First Saudi Astronaut To Visit The International Space Station Might Happen Sooner Than You Think

Avatar

Just days after UAE made history by sending the first Emirati and Arab astronaut to the International Space Station, work is being put in place for the second.

Saudi and Russian space agencies have just agreed to send a Saudi astronaut to the International Space Station

This is part of a comprehensive cooperation pact signed between both space agencies and was signed during Russian President Vladmir Putin’s visit earlier this week, his first trip to Saudi Arabia in 12 years.

Earlier this year, Chairman of the Saudi Space agency Prince Sultan Bin Salman also visited Russia where he toured space institutions, including a centre for astronauts’ training.
