It’s official – The Communications and Technology Ministry have finally announced that access to VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) applications such as WhatsApp and Skype are now available!
Allowing access to video calling applications is aimed at increasing and improving the confidence of businesses in the Kingdom.
Just a day after Al Jazeera’s Channel On Snapchat Was Blocked In Saudi Arabia by request of Saudi authorities, the announcement was made.
A statement was released from the ministry in regards to the newest surprise, “Digital transformation one of the key kick-starters for the Saudi economy, as it will incentivise the growth of internet-based businesses, especially in the media and entertainment industries.”
With almost more that 3 million users, Saudi Arabia is also home to more than 40% of Twitter users in the Arab region – activating VoIP services in the Kingdom is about to be the best thing we’ve all experienced.
