The woman who was formerly the heaviest woman in the world has died in Abu Dhabi on Monday morning.
According to a statement from Burjeel Hospital, where she was being treated, Eman Abdul Atti passed away due to complications “from underlying comorbid conditions including heart disease and kidney disfunction.”
Five months ago, Eman relocated from her native Egypt, to Abu Dhabi to receive bariatric surgery, while weighing 500kg.
She managed to shed more than 330kg, and was able to feed herself for the first time in 25 years.
Eman was under the care of 20 different doctors at Burjeel Hospital.
Sadly, she passed away around 4.30am on Monday.
The hospital sent its condolences to her family.
