It seems that since the announcement of women being able to drive last year, a downpour of other achievements and opportunities are coming up for women in the Kingdom. Now, the Council of Saudi Chambers announced that they want to hire women to work in restaurants, according to Saudi Gazette.
Amazing, right?
So initially, Saudi women will be hired to work in 16 restaurants based on a trial-and-error run. Along with this, the project lead by princess Nourah bint Mohammed, will also hold workshops with restaurant owners to discuss the pros and methods to hire more women in their sector.
The current unemployment rate of women in the Kingdom is at 33%, meanwhile the total rate of unemployment is 12%. So this initiative goes in likeness with the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s Vision 2030 to allow women to hold more jobs and elevate their unemployment rate by that time.
