US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has arrived in the Kingdom on Tuesday, following a request from President Donald Trump to have him meet Custodian of The Two Holy Mosques King Salman.
The visit follows a phone call made by Trump to King Salman on Monday wherein they discussed the disappearance of missing journalist Jamal Khashoggi. Trump praised the progress in the joint Saudi-Turkish cooperation that is investigating the disappearance of Khashoggi and the Kingdom’s eagerness to uncover the facts relating to the incident, reports the Saudi Press Agency.
The two also discussed the latest developments in the region and reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries.
Just spoke to the King of Saudi Arabia who denies any knowledge of whatever may have happened “to our Saudi Arabian citizen.” He said that they are working closely with Turkey to find answer. I am immediately sending our Secretary of State to meet with King!
