Four loud noises were overheard by many residents in Riyadh on Wednesday, according to to Reuters. The ‘boom’ noises promptly triggered worry amongst residents who tweeted about the situation.
However, Al Arabiya has confirmed that Saudi air forces successfully managed to intercept a ballistic missile launched from Yemen. The Houthi militia of Yemen said it fired missiles at ‘economic targets’, as reported from the group’s main channel al-Masirah TV.
“The missile force struck…economic targets in Riyadh with a salvo of ballistic missiles,” the headline read.
Several other missiles from Yemen’s Houthis have been intercepted by the Saudi forces in recent months.
