The Saudi Woman Seeking Asylum Has Been Granted A Refugee Status In Canada
The 18-year-old Saudi teenager fleeing alleged abuse from her family has been granted asylum in Canada.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau confirmed this weekend that she has received refugee status in the country
Rahaf Mohammed Alqunun fled her family while visiting Kuwait and flew to Bangkok, where she barricaded herself in an airport hotel to avoid deportation.

She grabbed global attention by mounting a social media campaign for asylum and was offered assistance by the United Nation’s High Commissioner for Refugees.
