On Tuesday, Uber announced that they would allocate a WHOPPING SAR 1 Billion to hep support women with their transport solutions and aid in progressing their number in the economy.
And this is just for start…
The Masaruky campaign will be a two-year initiative that aims to increase women’s participation in the workforce through access to affordable transportation and help them find accessible jobs that allow them to be flexible through Uber.
It will start with the initial SAR 1 million pledge to help make driving schools more accessible to women who want to study driving and may not have the ability to do so.
Through research, Uber found that there are only 22% out of the 1.3 million women in the workforce. Vision 2030 aims to increase that number by up to 30% by 2030. The study also found that 93% of Saudi women were positive about the lift of the ban because it’ll allow them work more freely.
By the time the ban is completely removed, more than half of the country’s women want to obtain their license to drive. The last 31% of those women would be willing to join job opportunities that involved driving.
So it’s really the perfect opportunity for women.
