With just 12 days to go until the meteorological start of summer on June 1, the National Center of Meteorology (NMC)has announced the beginning of a gradual but noticeable rise in temperatures across Saudi Arabia.
In a statement, Hussein Al-Qahtani, spokesman for the NMC, revealed that Jeddah recorded the highest temperature in the Kingdom this week, soaring to a scorching 47°C in the shade.
As the Kingdom braces for the peak heat season, the NMC is fully equipped and ready to manage the demands of summer forecasting. The center is utilizing its cutting-edge meteorological tools, including a national network of weather radars, satellite imaging systems, and the Saudi numerical weather prediction model.
