World leaders gathered in Riyadh at the Middle East Green Initiative (MGI) Summit, which was launched by Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman.
Speaking at the summit, the Crown Prince announced two initiatives to combat climate change at a cost of SR39 billion ($10.39 billion). Saudi Arabia will be contributing approximately 15% of this.
Other major announcements were also made by the Crown Prince including one in which he mentioned that 50 billion trees will be planted in the region, through the world’s largest tree-planting program.
