Prices for driving lessons are proving to cost more than doubt what men pay in Saudi, but those in charge have good reason for it. Saudi Gazette reports that women’s driving lessons cost between SAR2,000 and SAR3,000 as opposed to men’s SAR450.
However, the head of the Saudi Society for Traffic Safety Dr. Abdulhameed Al-Mejel, said that driving schools for women will be an entirely different situation from men’s. “These driving schools will be run by female trainers and supervisors, who are highly-qualified.”
In similar statements made on Tuesday, Al-Mejel also added that the fees are there to correspond with that level of quality in the driving lessons and training for women.
Many women have participated in awareness workshops and forums and shown a high-level of preparedness and compliance with the traffic and safety rules
