People around the world were asked to turn off all non-essential lights and electricity for one hour yesterday, as a symbol of commitment to the earth.
This one-hour event started back in 2007 and has grown to engage countries around the world, this year it passed on March 24 from 8:30 to 9:30 local time.
Using the hashtag “#ساعه_الارض” Saudi people tweeted their support to the cause.

With a lot of support from the kingdom and millions around the world who joined yesterday to take part in Earth hour, protecting the environment and fighting against climate change will continue to be a worldwide concern.
