6 Redoubtable Statements Made By Several Leaders At The Jerusalem Summit In Dhahran

This years’ Arab Summit or ‘Jerusalem Summit’ as it should now be addressed is one that has come at just the right time, during all the political turmoil in the Arab world. Several leaders from the Arab world travelled to Dhahran in Saudi Arabia to discuss solutions and reforms for the recent crises that have been occurring.  

Several statements and resolutions from the summit already show the great unity of the Arab world and their efforts in trying to maintain peace in the region. 

The Custodian of The Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz al Saud is hosting this year’s summit and here are some of the statements made on Sunday.

1. On rejecting the U.S’s decision to move the embassy from Tel Aviv to Israel

We reiterate our rejection of the US administration’s decision on Jerusalem. We commend the international consensus that rejects it. We emphasise that East Jerusalem is an integral part of the Palestinian land.

2. On Iran’s acts in the region 

We renew our strong condemnation of Iran’s terrorist acts in the Arab region and reject its blatant interference in the affairs of Arab countries. e welcome the statement by the Security Council which strongly condemned the launching of Iranian-made ballistic missiles by the Houthi terrorist militias toward Saudi cities.

3. On donating $200 million towards Jerusalem

Saudi Arabia announces a $150-million grant to support the administration of Jerusalem’s Islamic property.

4. On renaming the summit from the ‘Arab Summit’ to the ‘Jerusalem Summit’
