7 Key Occurrences That Involved MBS At The Recent G20 Summit In Argentina

Avatar

The 2018 G20 Buenos Aires summit was one of the most-discussed events in the last week, with many international leaders coming together to talk about selected goals for the global community.

The three agenda priorities for this year in the G20 dialogue were: the future of work, infrastructure for development and a sustainable food future.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman attended the event too and was even involved in a super viral handshake with Russia’s Vladimir Putin (which we covered, here.)

But check out all the KEY highlights of the three-day summit below…

1. On November 30, MBS arrived at the G20 Leaders’ Summit

…where the Argentinian President Mauricio Macri received him.

2. But prior to the summit’s initiation, all leaders met with other head of delegations for cordial meetings

MBS was photographed in discussion with French President Emmanuel Macron and other leaders.

3. Once the summit began, a group photo with all the global leader attendees took place

4. During the summit, one of the key outcomes discussed was to reform the World Trade Organisation (WTO)

All the leaders who attended the G20 summit came to an agreement that the World Trade Organisation (WTO.) The WTO is basically an intergovernmental organisation that regulates international trade, btw.

The issue is scheduled to be discussed during the group’s next summit in Osaka, Japan, in June.

5. On the US-China Trade War

During the summit’s dinner, US President Tump and China’s President Xi Jinping agreed for a 90-day truce in the trade battle. Trump announced holding off his initial plans to raise tariffs on the US $200 billion n Chinese goods.

7. On climate change

The final deal signed by the 20-member leader of the world’s nations had 19 of those confirm their commitment to Paris’ climate accord. The United States was the only one that withdrew from the pact.

However, many environmental groups lauded the statement and the fact that the leaders have come together in helping put climate change an important topic. Since it pretty much is.
