A beautiful picture of Makkah in the 19th century emerged via Twitter and it’ll give you all sorts of nostalgic feels over history.  

The black and white picture showcases the Kaaba in Makkah in all its glory, with the caption “Picture taken of the Holy Kaaba in 1297 H Islamic year, before 120 years.” 

It is a significant holy monument to the Muslims around the world and has welcomed more than two million Muslim pilgrims worldwide in 2017

The below picture highlights the holy Kaaba with a simple backdrop of the city more than 120 years ago.

Another picture of the historic Holy Kaaba has also been shared on social media

This picture shows a man praying infront of the monumental Kaaba in the 1880s, with the caption reading “[A] man is looking towards the Kaaba, but God is looking towards the heart.”

From history to today, the Kaaba continues to stand tall and proud to all Muslim Pilgrims in Saudi Arabia. 

The Kaaba is covered with intricate black and gold cloth with Arabic Quranic script.
