An Arab Student’s Experience Of Working In At A Starbucks Is Impressing A Lot Of People

An Omani engineering student shared what it was like to work as a barista and it’s taking up the Arab Twitterverse by storm.

It’s usually uncommon for many locals in the Gulf countries to take up jobs in the service sector but this trend is slowly changing with the younger generations

The young man explained on Twitter how working at Starbucks while a student in the US changed his life.

He explained that it was his last day at work and the previous six months working at the coffeeshop were amongst the best times he spent in the US.

He added that it taught him a lot of skills and reminded him to never look down at people in the service sector

Many people responded with support and appraisal and the student even spoke to an Omani radio about it.

He stated that he is not affected by what his local society might consider and will continue doing what he loves “regardless of what anyone says”.
