London’s King Fahad Academy Will Shut Down After Running For 38 Years

Hera Shabbir

This academy was definitely one of a kind in western London for almost 40 years! The academy was opened by Saudi’s former leader, late Fahd Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in 1985 for diplomat families. The school combined an Arabic and Islamic education and provided a comortable environment for all Arab families settled in London, UK.

The academy decided to shut down as part of the new educational reformation scheme of Saudi Arabia

The school sent out letters to students, faculty, and families about the closure and its essential step to reformation. King Fahad Academy currently has around 480 students, consisting of toddlers all the way up to the age of 18.

Parents are not happy about the sudden announcement

As reported by Middle East Eye, parents of students attending the school sent letters expressing their frustration and expressed how their children’ “education and stability have been left in limbo”. They have also complained that they don’t have enough time to find another school before the start of the next academic year this September.
